The Swiss-Ukrainian Reconstruction Agency SURA is an initiative of the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Eastern Europe, Central Asia, South Caucasus (JCC) and the Ukrainian-Swiss Business Association (USBA)🇨🇭🤝🇺🇦 It was conceived in response to the growing interest in Switzerland of individuals and organisations to support Ukraine. SURA is more than just an agency; it's a unified platform for all Swiss-Ukrainian B2B and B2G initiatives, events, and projects focused on reconstruction of Ukraine. 🏗 The aim is not only to align Swiss private-sector efforts and avoid duplicating activities. It is, as importantly, intended to simplify things for Swiss companies that want to get involved in the reconstruction process, but are currently confused by the myriad of Ukraine-focused business organisations in Switzerland. 📆🗣ʊ'On February 1st, we kicked off the SURA program with a "Meet and Greet Session" of key Ukraine-focused NGOs in Switzerland. The meeting, which took place at SURA's Zurich office, brought together the Ukrainian Society of Switzerland, the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Ukraine (HSU), the HUB Rebuild Ukraine | Switzerland, and NOVA Fronteira All-Ukraine Association of Entrepreneurs. Hosting the meeting were SURA Co-Directors Dmytro Sidenko and Sven Henniger, and SURA board member Dorit Sallis and Iurie Moraru. Participants presented their activities to promote Ukraine in Switzerland in a fun and friendly atmosphere fuelled by abundant snacks and drinks. They brainstormed ways to work together and the nature of information and support they would provide Swiss companies as a unified network. Participants agreed to collaborate on a well-aligned package of support for Swiss companies and, as importantly, meet regularly to share information about each other's activities. 🤝The consensus was that having SURA as the first port of call for Swiss companies that want to do business in Ukraine will allay confusion and greatly simplify the process. This will improve the Swiss private sector's chance of reaping the benefits of involvement in reconstruction and have a significant and positive impact on rebuilding the country.
